Availability and Personal Standards 🧐
Are you aware of your true availability and how available others are to you?
Have you ever looked at someone while speaking and thought:
- they’re not interested in anything I’m saying.
- they don’t appreciate how important this is to me.
- couldn’t they at least have ‘some’ manners and be even a little interested?
Have you ever been in a conversation and just tuned out? Missed out on what they were saying to you, but you somehow just about got the gist of it?
Did you know most people play out the best version of their life inside their own mind AND because they play such a good game inside their heads, they never really get around to playing the game for ‘REAL’ - out in the real world, engaging with people and being attentive in their relationships with others.
We can spend so long focused on something else going on with our own internal dialogue and the life inside our own minds, we become trapped in there. We’re always elsewhere, never present in the moment or moments that are most important. We can dismiss others, shutting them out when they are investing themselves and time in us.
When we observe our attentiveness towards others (being open, receptive and appreciative), we really understand where we stand with other people. Giving people our time and the opportunity to be open, we can determine whether we are wasting our time by investing in them.
If this is then true for you, consider whether you really need to be ‘stepping away’ until they are ready to come back ‘equally’ as open, receptive and being appreciative of you as an individual. Bring the focus back to yourself, to what is important and of value to your life.
Today, try focusing on giving yourself a standard and a level of quality for your own life.
Set those standards on being Open, Receptive, Appreciative, Available, Aware, Attentive and having ‘Discernment’ (the ability to judge). Living with your ‘standard’ daily gives you the strength and necessary tools. You can live a fuller, more positive life for ‘yourself’ and those that are important to you.
Happy Friday friends!
